Learn a little more about the advanced dental technology in Falls Church we use by reading below.

Digital Dental Impressions

Dentist about to take digital dental impressions of a patient

Instead of using putty to take impressions, which can feel uncomfortable and induce gagging, we utilize a high-tech digital dental impression system. This involves waving a wand-shaped device around your mouth to capture the ridges and structure of your teeth and oral anatomy. We can then send a digital copy to our dental laboratory or in-house CEREC milling machine to craft your restoration, mouthguard, occlusal splint, or other oral device.

Soft Tissue Laser

A soft tissue laser is a pen-shaped device that emits a beam of light from the end of it that allows Dr. Elsadig to kill harmful oral bacteria as well as conduct oral surgeries, like laser gum disease treatment, without needing to use a scalpel and sutures. It also drastically reduces recovery time as well as post-operative discomfort and bleeding, allowing you to get back to your daily life faster after your procedure.

CEREC Same-Day Dental Crown Technology

Our CEREC system paired with CAD/CAM technology allows us to craft restorations like dental crowns in a single appointment, completely eliminating the need for a temporary. We begin by taking digital impressions, which we can send to our in-house milling machine. From a solid block of dental porcelain, it can craft your restoration based on our customized instructions on the impression we captured. Once it’s complete, Dr. Elsadig will cement it onto your prepared tooth to provide it with additional strength and support.

CT/Cone Beam Scanner

In addition to digital X-ray imaging, we also offer cone beam CT scanning, which is a highly advanced piece of technology that allows our team to capture a complete 3D digital scan of your entire facial anatomy. Dr. Elsadig can use the scan to plan dental implant surgeries and other more extensive and detail-oriented treatments, as they show the exact positioning of the facial nerves and sinuses as well as the jawbone density.

Intraoral Camera

Dentist and assistant showing a patient images of their mouth

Similar in shape and size to our soft tissue laser, our intraoral camera is a small, pen-like device with a camera on the tip of it. By maneuvering it around the mouth, our dental hygienists and dentists will be able to capture still images and live video footage of hard-to-see nooks and crannies in the mouth. We can then display the photos on a chairside monitor to show you exactly what we’re looking at, allowing us to better explain our recommended treatment plan.
